My dad has been trying to find ways to spend more time with me lately, and my wife and I believe it is because he is trying to understand who I am as a person, because I am obviously not the boy he remembers raising. He is supportive of me transitioning and has shown allyship. He is very solidly a man of few words, and even fewer when It comes to feelings. Our relationship when I was growing up revolved around scouting, and so we went camping and did outdoorsy fun stuff. But we never really talked, it was very much a relationship based on mutual experiences. I'd give anything to sit down and have a conversation with him to help him understand who I've always been, and how I feel. I'd love to have a solid relationship with him. But idk how to build the bridge. My dad is almost 70 and not in good enough shape to be able to do the same type of activities, and he is very much a homebody now. I tried getting tickets to a ballgame, but he'd rather just watch it on tv. Sitting in silence on a couch and watching a game on tv, isn't something I can do.
