A week out from BA!
Post Body

Hey all! Been a while since I posted here, but wanted to stop by and post a bit about my experience a week out from breast augmentation surgery.

I had my procedure done with Dr. Gabriel Del Corral in Baltimore, MD. Around the time I initially met with him, I saw that there was a bit of a controversy about him on Reddit, evidently someone formerly affiliated with his staff stole some pictures of procedures done by other surgeons for his website. Needless to say, I was a bit nervous going in. Thankfully, though all of that got put at ease really quickly. He and his staff were amazing at the initial consult and they worked with me to figure out what size implants would work well for my build and used the inserts that I was using at the time to help guide my decision.

After that came the only real hiccup in the entire process, insurance approval. Thankfully, my insurance covers anything related to gender affirming care as long as there's a letter from a mental health professional and primary care physician. It took a bit to get in writing that prior written approval is not required for surgery to go ahead, which took about three months. Once that was sorted out, Dr. Del Corral's office called immediately and scheduled me for surgery with a two month turn around.

The day of surgery, everyone there was amazing. Everyone from the check in staff to the nurses were incredibly nice, made sure to use my correct name and pronouns, and just were wonderful folks to talk to. Dr. Del Corral stopped in a couple of time to just check in and make sure I was doing alright. The surgery itself also went off with zero issues and I'm incredibly happy with how things look afterwards! Beyond that, I was shocked that I wasn't in much pain at all in the immediate aftermath, its more just an itchiness around where the incisions are (pro-tip that I found helps me at least, in the shower, hot water over incisions works really well as a substitute for scratching!).

I've got my one week check in tomorrow and am already planning to go back for FFS and body contouring with him in the (hopefully) near future. 10/10, definitely work recommend!
