I've been looking through bottom surgery result photos posted on reddit and a lot of them are - or rather, were - hosted on Imgur. And now that Imgur has gotten rid of most of those, it's a lot harder for people like me to 'shop around' to figure out which surgeons I like the aesthetics of or to see the complications that people have shared their experiences of with certain surgeons.
I don't think it's just that people have since deleted the images, because I had an imgur album open on my browser that someone posted 3 years ago and when I went back to that browser window today, if I copy the link and open in a new tab, it gives a 404 error. The only reason I can still see it in the original browser tab is because I didn't refresh the page. I doubt after 3 years they went back and deleted it within that window of a week or two.
I'm not really sure what the implications of this are going to be for me. I only really want bottom surgery if I can find a surgeon who has the best chance of getting me the results I want, and having photos to see as examples is a lifeline. It's really scary knowing the risks without that.
