First Planned Parenthood appointment in a week. Are pills fine for my age (29)?

I've seen that PP usually gives pills as medication on first day of hrt appointment. But from what I heard, pills can have some side effects on your liver once you're older, and it's better to use patches/shots. Is my age considered fine for pills? Just being overly anxious right now because statistically, I'm probably "late" and older than most.
