I've been on HRT for a year and a day now and am a bit concerned about weight gain due to already gaining weight on HRT (I'm 5'10 and 167 pounds currently, age 21), feeling hungry all the time on HRT, and the women in my family being larger, though they're healthy and active - it's just genetic stuff that might also apply to me. This bothers me because I've been rather thin my whole life up until the past few years and changes in that kind of scare me, and more specifically I'm afraid of changes in my figure because I have an hourglass figure that I really like and I don't want to gain weight in my midriff/stomach and lose that. I realize my concerns about my admittedly normal stomach fat are unhealthy body image issues, but that doesn't mean they're not tangible feelings.
I've been thinking of asking my new endo about bioidentical progesterone but I've heard anecdotes about weight gain from it, and if most of progesterone's beneficial effects for trans women might be mostly anecdotal, then I feel I should consider those experiences in equal measure.
For those here who have been on or are currently on bioidentical progesterone, have you noticed weight gain that may be attributed to being on it?
