(Sixth Weekly Update)

Welcome back, all my fellow Augustans, to the seventh weekly official update. With these posts, I intend to keep you all updated on what is happening in and around Mount Augusta. Depending on the outcome of the upcoming election, it might be the last official one from me, though I hope whatever future government gets elected, continues these updates!

Aimuari's Judge Seat:

/u/Aimuari_'s 3 month judge term is coming to end and so that election is coming up! The current candidates that are running are Aimuari again and iakwai as announced here. Currently, the debate between those two candidates is going on in this thread. In roughly 24 hours, the vote will begin!

Mayoral Election:

Not only is a Judge Election currently happening but also the next mayoral election. My term technically ended on the 9th of August -- though until the new mayor has been voted in, we will resume as usual -- and therefore a new election cycle starts! The running candidates for this election are: /u/xkev320x, /u/citylion1 and /u/iakwai, though there is still time for other people to announce their candidacy here!

The next step is going to be the debate, maybe accompanied by a voice chat debate in the discord. In any case, don't forget to register to vote so your voice actually matters in any of these two upcoming elections!

Ibis, Olympia, Chungus and Vah:

The most recent happenings in MtA, which include all the aforementioned parties, has been somewhat confusing to say the least. The details of the Ibis pearling and bounty, that followed after Ibis had himself broken out and freed, therefore breaking a very fair agreement, can be read up on here.

Unrelated, but happening shortly after, there was a conflict between Cantina/Chungus members and Olympia members brewing in MtA. What happened, to the best of my knowledge, is that TheKingCacti and Auqust attempted to arrest Blaze which they thought was a legal thing to do as to them Blaze was a criminal under MtA Law. This arrest went wrong and Auqust was logboxxed and The KingCacti pearled.

Blaze claimed he was only defending himself as he was not a criminal under MtA Law but now the two Chungus members who attacked him, were. This quickly invited Olympia and Cantina members in the city and Olympia was quick to break down and disable a cantina-aligned bunker. Multiple different lawsuits, that are still ongoing, followed and Aimuari made this gov-endorsed statement on the main subreddit.

The most recent thing was a conflict between /u/robokaiser and Vah (/u/minemanpvper) in which I mistakenly gave Robo the go-ahead to acidblock Vah's bunker as I had received limited information and did not get the full picture until too late. This, of course, quickly invited Blackwater and Olympia members, one intending to defend Vah and his bunker and the other more or less defending Robo. After a long stare-off, Robokaiser stopped acid-blocking the bunker and left and a major conflict was avoided.

Quick Rundown:

• Rokko Mart offers financial assistance to anyone working on or planning public infrastructure, a great cultural venue or a grand piece of art!

• Citylion has built a beautiful theater in the city.

• /u/ImperatorMendes finished the planned projects for the MtA Virgin Islands! We now have a lovely Lady Augusta watching over the new world, bunker included!
