You might've seen the earlier post /u/wjkroeker put up about getting perms for the AoSS. Well, you might be wondering, what exactly is the AoSS?

Welllllll,

The Academy of Scientific Study is dedicated to endlessly experimenting on the mechanics of the server and ourselves in order to answer questions and discover new things.

Some of our findings have started to circulate already, including /u/wjkroeker and neurocide_'s pearling experiments in the End.

If you leave a pearl in the End OR pearl someone in the End (effectively having their pearl in the End) they are transported to the overworld and always end up in the overworld upon death; they also have no known borders due to their pearl being in the End, meaning they can go anywhere on the map. This is pretty nice for a sort of "soft" exile.

We are trying to figure out if when the overworld coords match up with the End coords for the pearl location, the person is affected as if the pearl was in the other realm.

For example, if your pearl was in the End at X 10 Y 10 Z 10, could you come within 1000 blocks of those coords in the overworld? And vice versa.

We're always, ALWAYS looking for more researchers. Currently, my own focus is on animal life in the End.

Here are some of my recent findings:

• Sheep, Wolves, Horses, Cats are all breedable in the End. Have not tested other animals as of yet.
• Octopi can survive in the End just as well as in the overworld, but a sufficient aquarium must be constructed (still bad at that, squids keep killing themselves)
• Wild wolves seem to follow Endermen, or at least stay nearer to them.
• Endermen may have an affinity for cats. They seem to be following mine with zeal.
• You CANNOT sleep in the End. Please don't try it.
• Spiders are not hostile to other hostile mobs in the End.
• Creepers are not hostile to other hostile mobs in the End; have yet to find out what happens with aggro when an Enderman reacts to a Creeper explosion.
