People seem a little burnt out, and Devoted has taken some of our momentum. Doughy is stepping down as judge for personal reasons, Silent's term is apparently up because we keep the judges on a rotating cycle, and Aleksey has indicated he is going to play devoted and won't have the same amount of time and effort to dedicate to factories in the future. We lost some other people like Hobbyist (too busy to play) and WP. The grind just killed us. Many of us are the kind of players who would rather hop on for an hour in the evening, rather than quit our jobs to farm e-wheat for a living. We made a lot of progress, and I'd like to see it continued by those who are actively playing and want to continue to evolve Augusta 3.0. This is not a candidacy thread, but I'm curious who is interested in the following:
- judges
- factory managers
Personally, I'm a little burnt-out as well, both in-game and IRL, and while I still have it in me to ensure what's best for Mount Augusta, I'd like to make it known now that even if Civcraft is thriving at the end of my term, the way things currently stand, I won't be seeking re-election. I will still be around, and I'm down to continue helping whoever the next mayor is.
ALTERNATIVELY: Civcraft 3 changed a lot of game dynamics and made it ridiculously difficult to stick to our roots. The size and scope of MTA's government has grown, and the game mechanics seem to push statismn and central control in a way that is incompatible with our roots. If Civcraft fizzles out, with the consent of a majority of Augustan's, past and present, we could move over to Devoted as a group and continue to play there. I don't think we're at the point yet, but if it does reach that point, Devoted's plugins allow for the kind of self-reliant minarchist society we strive to create, and there are real mountains :P
