We've been playing together for a while now, and I think we're starting to settle in and become more familiar with everyone in town. Some people lived up to my first impressions, others turned out to be surprising in a number of ways. I went ahead and profiled a few Augustans for your amusement:
Diet_Cola: I had an impression of Diet as a big time PvPer just because of the kind of company he keeps, but he's actually a top notch statesman and leader. He has a lot of civ-wisdom from playing and knows a lot about security and defense type stuff. With internal stuff he's usually willing share ideas, but when it comes to other nations he seems to think more before joining the conversation.
Random Build Tip: Build bubbles in the coke can out of glass and live inside of them as different rooms.
TicklingTurkey: He was a loose cannon when we played together on Devoted and continues to be today. He probably has more passion for the game and political philosophy than all of us put together. He's changed a little though. The Turkey I knew on Devoted would run in circles talking endlessly and never do any actual work. I've seen Turkey selling stuff and mining stuff lately. He might not grind for that giant stone monument, but he'll probably build a nice little house and continue to embarrass Augusta with dank memez and sp!cy shitposts for a long time.
Random Build Tip: 2 dozen reinforced wooden blocks do not constitute a "structure" also you should build a giant turkey leg on a plate and live in it.
Leo_Grant: Quiet but productive. Doesn't really hop in mumble, but shares interesting links on the sub. His mapping is top notch and accurate. He's done cool stuff for the city that people might not even realize he's responsible for, like building the tree farm on Zaphod St. way up North. Leo seems like a good peacetime leader. I've never seen a side of him that seems like a PvP and drama type player, but he could surprise us all one day by pearling an attacking army of 16 people breaking the kill streak record for Civcraft.
Random Build Tip: We could make paleolithic burial mounds in the shape of the MTA symbol with all the dirt I have. Every new map will have less tree cover and eventually the symbol will be visible through the canopy as if you were staring at it from outer space. Future civcraftians will wonder who built it.
Aleksey-T: Aleksey is a huge asset to MTA. He does the hard work of tracking everything going into or coming out of MAFO and keeps us following the path to economic greatness. In his previous life he was probably a tax collector or a scribe. He plays odd hours, but we cross paths sometimes.
Random Build TIp: You would probably live in an elegantly decorated home with a secret lab being a secret bookshelf door. Maybe on the top floor of the tallest tower. Probably black with dark glass.
King_Develey: I expected King Develey to be disconnected from the modern world in some kind of weird castle roleplay or something. Maybe he would communicate with in-game books and refuse to communicate via chat. He'd probably be the only person in town who keeps a horse and rides it everywhere, with the horse armor on it, spamming "MAKE WAY FOR THE KING" in local chat. It turns out he's a redstone fiend and actually a reasonable voice in legal brainstorming sessions. I don't know him all that well, but he's starting to seem like the type of person I would support for a judge's position in the future.
Random Build Tip: I don't even know what to say, it all looks pretty good, especially the grass growing arena. Maybe in the village around the castle you could put a netherack in some of the buildings roofs so they look like they're burning down. That would be interesting. Also, if someone ever ran official MTA stables it would have to be a King.
SerraNova: Serra seems like a information sponge. I can get opinions out of her, but often she seems to sit back and absorb. This, combined with her general friendliness would actually make her a good ambassador/diplomat. She's also smart. We were looking at the redstone flower shaker in MTA2.0 the other day and I could HEAR her taking notes. :P I wouldn't be surprised if she ends up inventing some king of weird build trick or mechanism that makes a simple task or annoyance completely disappear.
Random Build Tip: You should live in giant dark gloomy medieval tower with a torture chamber in the basement to counter your bright sunny personality. Maybe keep guard wolves in the yard and mine all the approaches with pressure plateTNT mines blacklisted to go off when someone specifically ON the group walks over them.
JackFlame: Jack seemed like a weird newfriend who cuts a lot of wood and never advances past stone tools. Turns out he's a top notch lumberjack and even his minecraft skin looks like one. He runs one of the shops in town that I most frequently shop at. He knows what people want, and he gets what he wants because of it. People will always need wood, and he sells it for all kinds of different items. I could see Jack being the first person in town to actually start a legitimate company and start exporting DCs of compacted logs to other nations making a boatload of money in the process. One of these days we should all pitch in and secretly make him a God Axe on his civcraft birthday or something.
Random Build Tip: For 99% of people, living in a tree is just kind of dumb and gimmicky. But for you...you should live in the worlds most grand and ridiculous tree house. Maybe there would be all kinds of dangerous vine drops and jumps and a huge slimeblock trampoline.
Man_of_Ass: One of the chillest people in town. You could suggest going on a hours long dirt-mining trip and he's probably zen out over it like a starving kid staring at a cheeto that's just out of reach. He's definitely a team player but embraces the odd, especially with the construction of his "unique" home. He's also probably among the top 1/4 of active Augustans. You can usually expect to see him in mumble at least once a day.
Random Build Tip: You should build a treehouse in a chorus plant and decorate all the land under it to actually look like the end. Then you should collect the pearls of newfriends in item frames on your wall like some kind of weird cryptkeeper or something.
If I didn't get you and you really want a write-up, ask in the comments and me or someone else might do one.
