[Discussion] U3P and Mount Augusta

This is just a discussion to get an idea of how we feel about the U3P, nothing permanent will happen straight away dont worry!

So a while ago there was a vote on whether to join the U3P, although I think it was a majority vote for the bill didn't gain the 75% vote to go through so we did not join. However, this was before even I joined and I am one of the oldest current members which means that almost none of us took part in the vote.

We are ow becoming more involved in the U3P, Loveshack has recently joined, we are getting Bastions from them at discounts and armour discounts. I was just wondering if we are moving towards signing up.

What are the pros? We are more involved in the , politics, they have a lot of infrastructure we could get added to, we would meet a lot more people, have two senators in the U3P voting and be probably the biggest and one of the most influential members. One thing Mt A has always struggled with is although we have grown a lot we still lack a lot of respect and political power unlike other big cities.

What are the cons? We loss our truly independent status, we are responsible for helping other towns defend themselves and the founders of MA were against it so it might be against our ideals that the city was based on. Also, we are getting some benefits even without joining.

I am not entirely sure where I stand on this issue, I am just interested in hearing what other people have to say on the matter.
