OK, so hear me out before posting or making a decision, I am going to cover a few things but am keeping it to one post to keep the reddit clean.
First of all I would like to call for a move to invalidate Shadedjon's recent judge election, please note I have nothing against shadedjon, its just we must stick to the ideals of Mt A. Here are my reasons:
- He did not post in the voters eligibility thread in time.
- He was not a citizen of Mt Augusta at the time.
- He attempted to bribe R3NNYB during the election.
Now, I know Shadedjon has said that none of this is mentioned in the constitution, I would like to point out that it does no also say that it is fine. Therefore I am going to go on these points,
- It is not specific and so in my personal opinion it is down to the Mayor to settle these vague areas of the constitution and then to make new laws that make it less vague.
- I would also like to point out the message in the sidebar "Augusta is run off of the opinion of the masses" and so seeing as Shadedjon only received 3 out of a possible 8 votes he was not voted in on the masses, and I will further mention that although it is not specific in the constitution that you need a majority, if there had been more than two candidates running for the positions than you would need a majority and so going on this (taken from the constitution) then Shadedjon should need a majority to take the position.
- The fact that he was not a citizen, although it does not say in the constitution I don't think the original Mt Augusta was set up to allow "strangers" to be voted in without living in Mt Augusta. As the constitutions is vague about whether you need to be a citizen to stand, lets look at the majority IRL situations where you do, I think we must go on this fact.
Ok, now I am going to go on to call for a change to land grab laws and terraforming. I think major terraforming of land must need permission by a senior member of the town or a majority vote. Large land grabs (bigger than a certain size) should have to be posted in the reddit and over 3 days people vote on whether it should be allowed, depending on the purpose of the land grab and a mock up could help swing the vote. If it is allowed then that is fine, if not then they can't build. I call for these changes as we are growing quickly and more and more situations like these are going to appear and the constitution is too vague.
I am also calling for a far more detailed criminal code as at the moment it only really covers certain griefings. I would like to make it to cover corruption, land claims of already claimed land, trespassing and mis-treating people other than just murder.
Road names also need to be discussed, many new roads are appearing and being named, and I believe that road names are decided on by everyone and so I call for a discussion on the new roads that have appeared since the last naming round was and a bill to make it so that all road names need to be confirmed by a senior member of town.
Sorry that was a lot, thanks for reading, and if theres anything you disagree with post below so we can get some discussion going.
