So to keep Mt Augusta from being a one party state and to fully express my views I have decided to form the Peoples Republic of Mount Augusta (PROMA).

Although I have formed this party in response to the formation of MALP (don’t want a one party state), it is not an aggressive response, I merely want to enhance the politics of the city, PROMA actually agree with MALP on a lot of their policies but do differ in some ways.

Edit: I have better outlined how we are different from MALP in the comments below, in terms of running the city on a day to day basis our current policies are very similar.

Our main aims:

To preserve Mt Augusta’s culture and history: This means that we aim to preserve historic sites, keep the French district French, recording our history as it happens.

To push towards a more parliamentary setup for government (please read the reasons): We understand that Mt Augusta was set up based on the 1.0 city and that changing too much would just make us another New Augusta. But, if we never accept change we will be left behind and can’t hope to survive. Also, Civcraft is a political stimuli and with a more parliamentary setup we believe this will inspire further political debates and make politics within the city more interesting. However, sticking to the ideologies that the city was founded on, power would stay with the people, major bills would need to be passed with a referendum and a majority vote.

To maintain and improve infrastructure and to keep an organic city, preventing an increment in abandoned plots and to prevent a checkerboard city layout.

To encourage a free market with no taxes or limitations.

To work with the existing snitch system and to tighten security while allowing free movement of citizens and visitors.

To encourage tourism through sports and other cultural events.

To regenerate and link the surrounding inactive towns such as Silent Vale, Lawnia, Griffin and so on.

To have a voluntary civil service, where people volunteer to keep the city in order, cleaning up griefed buildings and to report crimes.

To use the law system and to prevent the abuse of it, we want to keep neutral impartial judges at all times.

We also want to push for elections every month for the Mayor (and council seats) and for judges to prevent these positions being held by inactive players and to create more political discussion within the city.

We also want to try and expand our sphere of influence and build embassies in other towns, encourage the building of embassies on embassy row and to strengthen ties with other nations while remaining independent ourselves.

We do not support the joining of the U3P or other agreements like this, we aim to stay a free city!
