Heyo fellow Augustans,
Along with ToastedSpikes brilliant new project, I'd like to open up some discussion on an art fair/contest in Mount Augusta!
The basic idea goes as follows:
Contestants enter the competition from all over Civcraft. They pay a small entry fee, and are given a few chests of materials. Using only the materials given to them, they are given a theme and a timeframe to build a sculpture of their choosing: abstract, classical, w/e.
They are each given a certain sized plot in the eastern expansion, which has plenty of room. After their time elapses, a set of artistic and celebrity minds from throughout Civcraft will tour each sculpture, and using an established judging criteria, will determine the winner. The winner will be granted a large percentage if not all, of the entry fees, and be have their statue reinforced and made a permanent fixture of Mount Augusta!
Ideally, I think it would be great to have a small scale version of this next week, which is ambitious, but totally doable.
So, let's brainstorm! Here's what needs to be figured out:
- Exact location of the work area
- Materials given
- Entry fee
- Number of participants to cap entry at
- Size of plots
- Judging criteria
So let's brainstorm! Post any ideas you have!
If this works out, we could do a World's Fair of sorts, make it a week-long event, including the grand opening of the Society, an art contest, a redstone olympics (thread coming soon! :D), a play, etc!
EDIT: THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPER SERIOUS ANSWERS EVERYBODY
