If you've watched the show only till S4E10, go back and watch the whole thing before reading this
I'm pretty sure Irving was lying when he convinced DiPierro of the dark army "focusing on something else", and letting them go. I realize that the dark army were in fact focusing on killing everyone at washington township, but then again, there were 2500 dark army operatives in the tri-state area alone, right?
Furthermore, it seems far too much a coincidence that Irving was there the exact same time DiPierro showed up to the book stall, especially in a well written show like Mr. Robot. I think Irving was covertly trying to convince Darlene and DiPierro to board the flight, which would have probably been fitted with a bomb (Yeah I know, its far fetched, which would actually explain why Esmail didn't explicitly put this in the show). The How aspect of a bomb is of course, left to the viewer, but it makes perfect narrative sense that DiPierro and Darlene wouldn't meet each other again.
I've been holding on to this theory since I finished watching the series a week ago since it seemed obvious to me when the episode ended, but I can't find any other occurrences of it on the sub.
