I'll spoiler tag a few big things but fair warning my entire post is spoiler city. Y'all got warned.

Season 1 Episode 7 'eps1.7_wh1ter0se.m4v' about 31 mins in.

"Mr. Robot" meets with Tyrell. Knowing this is Elliot, we can assume Tyrell picked him up with one of his suits. The conversation begins to make a lot more sense after a second viewing.

But what intrigues me is the scene right after that. Tyrell is back at home with his wife. He gets down on his knees and says:

"We've been blinded by a myopic focus on the wrong players. A couple months ago, I saw a tech. Someone you would never expect, take advantage of an opportunity other people saw as a short cut."

(Joanna) "A short cut to what?"

(Tyrell) "That's the thing. I thought at first it was merely a small act of revenge. But no, it was a shortcut to something bigger. To something grander. Something beautiful. We've been focused on what's in front of us. But we haven't been looking at what's above us.

(Joanna) "And what's above us?"

(Tyrell) "God"

So what I'm trying to figure out is what he meant by this.

My theory: It seems to me that he needs to know at least a good amount of fsociety's plans at this point. Maybe even as much if not more than what is revealed to him the finale. And if he does- he might see this as an opportunity to become something much greater than the CTO at E Corp. He'd become a "savior" if he somehow managed to obtain a key to decrypt Ecorp's files or he might attempt to become the face of fsociety. In fact it seems like he was the behind the mask in the last video that was put out.

I think that line was super important and would love to hear other thoughts!
