I’m an IT consultant with over 20 years of experience living in the UK and have made a career out of freelancing! As an employee I’ve made it to position of CTO for a small business but I’ve always preferred to freelance so I went back to that! I’ve always loved Europe (so you can imagine how I feel about losing freedom of movement) and wanted to move over but timing has never been right with the family.
I did attend college when I was younger to do the first year of an HND but never completed it as frankly I found most of the information on it out of date and at the time education was holding me back from gaining the experience I needed!
Recently visited and fell in love with Germany and am considering the idea of moving out there with the family. I’m happy to keep it simple and go back to perm employment to get me moved out to Germany but I’m wondering if my lack of degree is going to destroy my chances. I’ve tried looking over the documents but my german is rudimentary at best and the sites seem contradictory over what is needed for what!
Is there anything I can do short of getting a degree? I’m nearly 40 and really don’t want to have to wait 6 years while I do a part time degree
