Hey everyone, I’m thinking about moving to LA from Australia but I’m worried it’s not going to be possible. I have just started researching the things I need to put in place to be able to work and live in the US. Just wondering if anyone has any tips on where or how to start the process.
I’m 27, from what I have found so far, my age is going to make it a lot harder to be accepted with a working visa. I’m hoping I’v understood wrong. Does anyone know if there is a way around this such a finding a job who would sponsor me ect? I’m also hoping there is a way to live and work for a short period of time to make sure I like it before settling and bringing my dog over?
Are job opportunities scarce in LA? I am a qualified vet nurse, qualified early childhood educator and have plenty of experience working admin. I’m honestly happy to give any sort of job a go so I’m hoping this will increase my chances?
I am also wanting advice on the cheapest but still safe areas to live as I will be moving there alone. I won’t have a car and will need to rely on public transport or walking.
I’d also love to make some friends before I move over (if or when I do) as I’m quite family and friend orientated and would settle in easier knowing someone. Any suggestions on the best way to ‘meet’ trustworthy people?
Sorry for the long post! Thank you in advance for any replies!😊
No way around sponsorship (or else everyone would be doing it). Marriage is the only other option.
