Baron Munchausen is a critically acclaimed masterpiece by Terry Gilliam yet in my experience, it's also a mostly unheard of hidden gem. It has top notch acting from the likes of John Neville, Oliver Reed, Uma Thurman and Robin Williams, special effects that still easily stand up by today's standards and the ability to leave anyone who watches it with a childlike amazement.
