Looking for recommendations: Bought an MX Master 3S, hate the scroll wheel, returning it
Post Body

Picked up a 3S a few days ago after the switches on my G502 Lightspeed failed. I like a lot about the 3S but I can't get used to the scroll wheel at all - I'm used to giving the scrollwheel quick scrolls (but not letting go / not trying to switch to the rachetless mechanism), but whenever I scroll too quickly or if I scroll up and down, the wheel barely registers an input. If I scroll slowly it's totally fine, but I don't feel like relearning, even though I love everything else about the mouse.

I like the shape of the 3S the most. I have bigger hands, with the G502 only my fingertips and the very bottom of my palm (near my wrist) would be touching the mouse. With the 3S I have more support over my palm, much more comfortable - especially liking the support at the very top of my palm, where the big arch of the 3S is.

If I can't find an alternative I'm fine settling for another G502, but wondering if I have better options. I don't play games, mainly just browsing stuff and reading documents and code for work.

Must haves:

  • Wireless
  • Large (hand measurements: 21cm x 10cm)
  • At least 1 programmable thumb button, more appreciated
  • Right handed
  • Not a shitty scroll wheel, lol

Appreciated but not super necessary:

  • Silent clicks
  • Multi device support
  • Bluetooth
  • USB-C
  • Similar shape to the 3S (upper palm support)
  • Thumb scroll wheel like the 3S

I'm currently planning on checking out the G903, Lift, and M650 in-store, but open to any kind of recommendations, thanks
