Rear Wheel upgrade on Talon 1

I recently got a Talon 1 as my first decent MTB and didn't realize that a lot of the parts aren't easily upgradeable with some of the more popular brands. I am wanting to upgrade the rear wheel with something a bit more quick engaging but have (I believe) a 9mm QR skewer. Are there any hood options or adapters out there?Thanks in advance and sorry for the noob question!
