hey guys!
i am 24, female, and 5'6.
i was prescribed mounjaro due to me being obese class iii last year. i do not have diabetes and my blood work came back good for all obesity-related issues. i do have binge eating disorder, though it's now currently in remission!
i started at 266 and am now 216 as of today. honestly, my anxiety got super terrible on mounjaro. i cannot explain why. that, coupled with some g.i. issues and hair loss (which is probably due to rapid weight loss and not mounj), has made me decide to stop taking the medication around 3 weeks ago.
i am maintaining the same calorie deficit. i definitely feel hungrier, but since i'm so used to eating a smaller amount and counting calories, i feel that i do not need the medication anymore. i am still losing weight each week (2-3 lbs). i still have not binged and have had no desire to binge eat.
i wanted to post this here as i've seen a lot of stuff about how, for some people, this is a life-long medication in terms of weight maintenance. i am going to continue to update on my weight-loss progress every few months or so as i wish there was more long-term information here on stopping mounjaro and continuing the journey!
i thank everyone in this group for being so kind and supportive, and i am grateful for mounjaro giving me an amazing head-start with my weight loss. :) i will attach a progress photo, too!
