Insurance stopped covering Mounjaro over my A1C

Post Body

While I have never had a diabetic A1C (always under 6.3) my free insulin numbers have been so high I should have had diabetic numbers.

I started Mounjaro in August after switching from Ozempic which destroyed my GI tract. I went to the 5mg dose as it was the equivalent to my Ozempic dose and had zero side effects. For the first time in a decade my free insulin number was NORMAL after 3 months and Iโ€™ve lost 12 pounds. Down into the 240s for the first time since 2013. My insurance has decided they wonโ€™t cover my meds anymore unless my A1C is over 6.5.

Wild. Anybody else had this happen?
