Hello!
When I let my motorcycle engine idle, I noticed that even though the fan starts, the temperature does not drop. It keeps going up, but at what seems to be a slower pace. It got as high as 114-115C (237F). If I'm revving it though, the temperature does go down (which makes sense due to it having a mechanical water pump and since the engine has more RPM, the pump rotates quicker so it pushes water at a faster pace, please correct me if I'm wrong) but is it normal for this to happen?
I've tested it at 28C (82F) temperature outside and it happened. Even more, at some point I get a warning on the TFT saying "Coolant temperature too high! Check coolant level. Continue driving in part. load to cool down". The coolant level is ok, just below the max indicator. The coolant has been changed at the dealership in March.
LE: I have opened the radiator cap and it looked like it had air there (heard some air going out as soon as I unscrewed the cap). I topped the radiator up with distilled water and put the cap back. Now when I start the motorcycle with a cold engine, it reaches 100C, fan starts, drops the temperature down to 89C and the fan stops, then when it reaches 100C again the fan kicks in again and it brings the temperature down to 92-95C (the fan still runs, it just does not bring the temperature below this point or it's doing it slowly). All this while idling. Is it ok in these conditions? The environment temperature was 23C when I ran this test today. I tried it twice, both times with the same results.
