Kawasaki gpz 500s engine cranks wont start

Hello. Got a kawasaki gpz 500s 1991 and had some problems with the engine so I needed to disassemble it. Problem is, when I tried to set the flywheel on the C mark and the camshafts on ex and in the engine got stuck (like it was hitting a valve). But when I put it on "T" the engine turns over with no problem. I have tried starting it with no success and throught that you could help me.
