So i read this post "https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoX/comments/3kwysz/x_pure2015_on_verizon_working_how_i_set_it_up/" And i tried that. Back story: I have a Moto x first gen since a year and a half ago. I'm on the Verizon Edge program, and i only have about $90 left to pay off that phone. But i broke the screen a few weeks ago and have been living with it. The touch screen still works fine. To get the screen fixed is about $100, and to pay it off is the same, but i am on a family plan with my mother and father and brother, and they want to switch to a different carrier once our contract is up on all the lines, which happens to be around March of next year. So if i finish paying off my phone, its still broken, and to get another phone through verizon would get me on another 2 year contract. So instead i bought the Moto X Pure through the motorola site and it just came in the mail. I was hoping i could just pop out the sim card from the first gen and put it into the new one. Everything seems to be working except 4G. I tried going into cellular networks and changing the network operator to Verion, but then it said "Registered on Network" and then says that service isnt available through verizon. This same sim card works fine in the Moto x first gen and it is a Verizon 4G sim card.
Do i have to call up verizon or something? Any help would be appreciated
UPDATE: Thanks all for the recommendations. I ended up going into the local verizon store and the guy i talked to really had no idea what he was doing because they dont normally deal with unlocked phones that are allowed to be used with Verizon, but he ended up getting me a different sim card and activating it normally and it works now. Not sure WHY it wassnt working before, but it works now so im not concerned.
