Riding the clutch
Post Body

If a bike has a wet clutch, is it valid to pull the clutch lever in some amount but not fully (ride the clutch) in any gear - but typically 2nd, 3rd - for cornering and times where you require a temporary but minor drop in power in some situations? Or is it considered bad for either vehicle control or clutch wear (even though it's wet is it still best not done regularly?)

Comments

If you need to change your acceleration for any reason, you will not be able to. You will be in too high a gear to accelerate out of trouble and too high a gear to break with the help of the engine. Clutch wear won't be that much of a problem on most wet bikes unless they are really heavy imo (not a mechanic, so don't hold me on this), but for safety, big no no.
