Hi, I’m 20F, wondering if I should buy a 125cc bike to do some training on after I’ve gotten my CBT, or should I wait until I’ve got my full A2 to get a new bike? Ideally, I’d like to save up for a bigger, restricted bike and get it unrestricted when I can do the A licence.

I was riding a year on a CBT on a 125. Really good experience. You will learn maintenance, roadcraft and good clutch control. The A1\A2 test will be much much easier if you are already proficient on a geared 125. I bought a Japanese 125 from a friend and I'm selling it for close to the same price I bought it for. I think the loss I'll take on the resell is worth the money I saved from only having to take a few lessons before passing the test first time.
