Hi All, about to pick up my new MT09 on Saturday to commute into London 3 days a week, maybe more (weather dependant). Worried about getting bike robbed in the London in the bays and also on the way back.
Am I being silly to bring in the new bike? My commute isnt terrible currently but I am looking to switch it up for the summer then maybe return back to tube for winter. Coming in from Zone 6 to 1...
It was a sad but freeing realisation that I have to accept theft as a fact and that is what insurance is for.
A lot of people don't use a disc lock and chain. I recommend both because you only need to be more secure than the bike next to you.
Also, of you are in zone 1, look for any indoor carparks that have free motorbike parking. There are loads in the city and a few in Westminster. They are more secure and keep your bike dry in the horrendous weather we are having.
