I've shit myself up a bit this morning. Was on my morning commute, there's always backed up traffic from a poorly design junction, so I filter up to it when I can. Normally very sensible because lorries use this particular A road. This morning I don't know what came over me, I couldn't see well past a lorry and went anyway. It was clear, but not for long enough for me to get past the lorry bands pull back in. Luckily the car coming the other way saw me and let me through.
The lorry rightfully beeped at me and I feel like a twat. Was a bit shaky the rest of the ride. If that car driver had have been not concentrating (like me) I think I would have been toast.
Is there a universal hand gesture for "my fault. Sorry" all the ones I know are aggressive not apologetic!
Glad you are safe.
Also, if there is no more danger and you are safe and stationary, open palm to the driver you are apologising to and then point at yourself while looking sheepish and sorry.
This "sorry, my fault" gesture tends to calm down even the most enraged driver.
