Getting back in the saddle.

Hi All,
Unfortunately due to ill health I had to stop riding for the last year and a bit, now with my health improving and finally on the mend, I've been getting new riding gear sorted and along with it, some spanking new boots.
However, due to not being in the saddle for a length of time, I feel as though my riding skills may have dropped off.
Should I phone my local riding school and ask them to come out with me and check my riding etc before going out on my own again?
