splitting Single lanes

So we're fortunate that we can split lanes here, especially on the freeway. But what about singles lanes? can we go around to the front of the line at the intersection? and what about exit ramps, where you can go either left or right once you exit the freeway. can you split down the middle and make the turn in which ever direction you can?
