Moto G6 Play - folders are buggy and status bar

Since the Pie update, I've noticed that when I click on a folder to expand it, it's slow and a little glitchy. I use the default launcher. I used to also be able to customize what appeared on my status bar. I can't seem to find this setting anymore. Anyone else have insight into these two issues?
