Necromantic Rituals and Gem/Artifact Augments Update
Hello Mortals,
I have had many players concerned about how Necromantic Rituals scale with augments versus their cost and investment time. **We hear you**. There was concern that there may be something broken. I wanted to update the community based on my findings, what the Devs have discovered and how we will address it.
First, the augments are not broken. From our intensive testing of both gems and artifacts, they are giving the proper values and not reverting when leveling up, or stabling a pet.
Second, they are a generally underpowered. Based on feedback, testing and what we see, we also believe this is the case so we are going to address this.
I have been working with the designers to update the scaling and system to give a more rewarding experience based on the feedback I have gathered from you all. With Beast Mastery around the corner, this is the perfect time. Risen Pets are a great alternative path than becoming a Beast Master.
Here are some things we are going to do. Keep in mind we will not give out exact changes to allow for player discovery.
- All Gems and Artifacts will be receiving at minimum a small buff. This should allow for a better feeling pet in regards to its power.
- The current gem/artifact system has a single linear progression as you go up in gem/artifact rarity. Meaning that a single gem and a single artifact is by definition a pseudo "Best in Slot" option. Instead we will put more variance on the types of stats these augments do. Meaning that some augments may have better melee, ranged and magic buffs. Some may have more health vs more various defenses, etc. This will allow players pick the right augments for particular pets and customize their Risen creatures with more variance and specific purposes. With one more clarification, there will be some augments that are better than others, but we wanted to give you the option to have more choices versus one gem/artifact beats all.
These changes will also be taking into account that in a future patch there will be ritual tables that give another boost in pet power/stats. Currently there are portable ritual tables as a baseline. Soon we will be adding ritual tables for your home (a deed) and adding more in-world ritual tables that are static and will provide the best bonuses. These will not be included in this update, however these are considered in the overall balance for the future.
We appreciate the patience our Necromancers have had with us as we try to investigate and then discuss a solution. We will be finalizing our design and implementing it soon. It is VERY likely this will come next patch (Sprint 3).
Take Care
