Twitch Stream May 12th 2022 Summary
Stream Next Week
There is a chance there may not be a stream next Thursday. If this is the case, we will try to arrange something with either Robmo or another developer. Depending on the outcome it may arrive at a different time. If we have any updates in advance, we will be sure to let you all know.
Bounty Hunter Tweaks
We are happy to see the current engagement with the Bounty Hunter system. We have received feedback from the community, and we understand there could be room to make some adjustments. This may include range caps or rewards based on range. We will look internally at what may be some of the options. We may also add the feature that targets can hear a bird following them. These are not all confirmed; we are taking your feedback. Thank you.
Trinkets
In our next patch we will be introducing the first pass of the Trinket system. We will start with what we call “General Type” Trinkets. In the future we will expand on different types and variations. With General Types, you will have the option for rings or amulets. Each of these variants have five different materials: Cuprum, Silver, Gold, Skaadite and Oghmium. Each Trinket can also have a special gemstone that can be put in for another effect. Ring effects will focus on Attribute Point bonuses and Amulets will focus on Skill Point Bonuses. Higher Tier Trinkets will have more effects. When you find these on random humanoids, they will need to be identified. These vendors to identify will be in all the major cities including GK and Kranesh. The vendors also will provide melding and charging services. Each trinket will have three charges that are spent when you die. Without any charges the trinket will not have any effect. Charges are currently bought with gold coins. Melding will allow you to re-roll certain bonuses on the Trinkets which will require an additional item. There will be three Trinket slots on your character, one located for the head and two for the hands. If you are not wearing a trinket and/or have an unidentified trinket in your inventory, they will drop on death. Trinkets that are identified and worn will be soul bound. We are excited to see what this will bring for our players’ builds. We anticipate great hot spots for players to visit as some locations will have higher drop rates for certain items and effects. All humanoid creatures will have a chance to drop Trinkets, including early mobs such as zombies.
Interest Points
We will be releasing a small wave of our Points of Interest to flesh out the world of Myrland further. We have been looking at your feedback on how the world sometimes has “empty” space between located and wanted to slowly address this. We hope these will give you more to see, interest to visit, and things to discover.
Necromancy
We are getting closer to launching Necromancy. With spellcasting mobility, and some new spells, it is sure to help solo mages out in the world. Gaining Necromancy secrets will be accessible in both group and solo play. Whether that is in dungeons, from humanoid mobs, trade brokers or player knowledge. We also anticipate hot spots in locations where this knowledge can be found.
Guards
When we add or remove guards from the game, we try to make sure it makes sense in the context of the world and of each city. We try to balance this by having different areas of town or outside town with different guard presence. Making sure that new players are safe enough around cities while still making sense is part of our design philosophy.
Past May Roadmap
We are still committed to the current roadmap but understand we must plan for the future. We will not be presenting anything until our first roadmap is completed. We can say that we will be slowing down our content stream to focus on issues that negatively affect the player experience. This includes issues with housing, pets, skills and more. This current roadmap has been an eye-opening experience which we continue to learn from. StarVault Games truly appreciates the patience, feedback, bug reports and support that the community has given us. We are committed to the long term. For the long term to be successful, we understand the foundation needs to be solid before we pile on additional content.
Twitch Drops
We will be offering Twitch drops for our content creators as a thank you to both the creators themselves and the community. We do not have a timeframe for this currently, though we can offer what we will be giving;
In-game subscription time (once subscriptions unlock)
In-game capes (it will be lore friendly and not a twitch purple cape!)
Tower Shields
As of right now, we are scheduled for Tower Shields to be included with the Necromancer patch. This could change, but right now things are looking good for this outcome.
Other
Combine Feature: This is planned as a feature from MO1. You will be able to take two items and in certain combinations combine them into something different, such as a campfire.
Macro Function: We plan on adding the macro system from MO1 for typed commands such as emotes.
Public Test Server: We are still considering and planning a PTS for MO2. Whether or not this is only for certain patches or continuously persistent is uncertain.
Free Haven Demo: We still have plans to make Haven a F2P area in the future. We do not have a date on this.
