Is it me, or is Scorpion the perfect beginner character?

I'm no stranger to NRS games, let alone fighting games in general, but when I wanted to take a break from using Baraka in my Invasion run I had a bit of trouble deciding who else I was gonna use.
At first I decided on Geras, but I was having issues with the combos since it's been a few weeks, so I picked Scorpion instead.
I don't know WHAT it is about this man but his combos are unbelievably easy. I feel like he's the perfect character you'd recommend to someone starting MK1.
Is this just me or?
