Post Body

(I posted this to the skywind subreddit too, however I felt it should go here also.)

Hi everyone, my name is Erik and I am one of the artists working on Skywind, My major task right now is to lead the charge in remaking the Dwemer tilesets and clutter. now if you fimiliar with this stuff, well.. there is a lot of it and remaking it all is a nightmare especially when it is so simple compared what we can do today in terms of texture resolution, Poly count and all that.

Now recently I have been seeing people on skyrim modding sites talking about how we are removing the Dwemer 'electricity'.. Jeepers. (Original thread found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Morrowind/comments/3hun70/today_i_learned_that_skywind_has_robbed_dwemer_of/)

This appears to have originated in a public thread on our forum from some non-developer posters talking about how they see the Dwemer, one of them brings up some crazy ideas and the others follow. However the discussions on that idea never left that one forum thread and were never endorsed by any of the developers. Yet somehow people still think we are doing this. so I am saying this now. we have and never will consider removing the 'electricity' It is just too Dwemer.

Now I cannot finish up a thread like this without teasing everyone, so here you go. the first official Dwemer teaser image I have let slip. and its not actually much, just a screenshot I sent one of the other developers, but I hope it gives you an idea on the scale of this project. 3 tilesets, 4 batches of clutter, two unique sets of assets cough and a fuck tonne of other stuff from doors, cranes and boxes to Ventilation shafts and massive staircases. its all here and its going to be fuckin awesome.

that image is directly from Maya, so not really a good example of what It will look like ingame

Expect a more in-depth blog post later this week, depending if I get the time to write it up. And of course more images will be included :)
