Kitchen Learning: What to do with a climbing child??
Post Body

16 MONTHS OLD

I'd love to start teaching him in the kitchen soon, but he's an avid climber and has a natural curiosity for everything. My child just wants to climb on the kitchen counters and touch everything... He mimics occasionally, but not often yet. Will this change?

He's climbing into his high chair to eat a late night snack/meal... he then likes to climb onto the table. He likes climbing his pickler climber at a 3 year old level. And then he'll move on and climb up and down the stairs so often I am pretty confident he's good on his own without a spotter....

He is resourceful. He pulled up our 5 gal compost bucket to get to the stainless steel trash cans and then he can reach up to the counter... hooray? 😬 There are knives up there and canisters and jars of stuff he can spill. And drying dishes. Not to mention an electric stove. Think we should just keep him out? He's starting to go to the fridge and pull out things he wants! We don't really have room for a toddler kitchen...
