Yes, mine have been happy in many different substrates, but this one particularly did absolutely perfect in regular soil.

I usually use Miracle Gro tropical houseplant soil. This one however was my first propagation, my second monstera, and I had just moved it from water into plain Miracle Gro indoor houseplant soil. She is happy as can be and was rootbound so I just repotted her into a little bigger pot with tropical soil mixed with some orchid bark. All 3 of my monsteras are now in that mixture.
