Curious to hear your opinions!
Edit: Wow, thanks for all the replies and likes!
Here's mine:
Guard Lance is the best weapon in MH World Iceborne. It's the least used one, and I feel people are missing out. It has such a beautiful moveset based around counters, repositioning and pure aggression. The only criticism I really have of it is that most monsters until the very endgame (plus Velkhana) cannot handle the extent of its utility very well.
Which leads me to an even more unpopular opinion: Rise and the endgame of World maybe did not make a mistake by giving us ridiculous amounts of chip damage for certain moves. It is fair! (At least for Lance.) With how useful and fluid Guard Advance and its combo options are and with how surprisingly lenient the tracking of the "nasty chip damage" attacks is, it is just an incentive to use the entire moveset and be just as aggressive. I have yet to encounter an attack with chip damage that is actually unavoidable by means other than blocking/countering, and whereas Lance is just the GOAT in every game, I really enjoy the direction the 5th generation has taken it.
The tenderiser mechanic in iceborne is unnecessary and should never have been implemented
