Additional Lance Tips
Post Body
So, moderate lance users might already notice this, but these are additional tips that I could think of while playing the lance. Hope non-lancers can get more info to try out this weapon:
Multi hit attacks- There are a lot of monster attacks that consists of multiple hits, most of them, once your counter one attack, will allow you continue attacking even while the monster's attack animation is on-going. A perfect example is KT's (unleashed) multiple head bash to the ground. Counter one of them and you're free to attack KT while she's not done. There are, however, that will hit you even if you counter the first hit. An example is Lunastra's double tail swipe.I think I may have made an incorrect statement here as pointed out by one of the reply, so I'll put a strikethrough for now.- Mounter- While charging, you can jump and do a jumping attack to mount the monster. I notice that most monsters will be mounted in 1-3 arial hits, so if you are not speed running, you can use this to give you more free hits.
- Best move- While your triangle and circle attack will be your most used move, the Finishing Thrust is the most powerful in relative to it's execution time. If the monster is downed, I typically do a circle attack>charge attack>finishing thrust>repeat as long as I am still withing range of the monster( those moves will move you forward).[edited to reflect that Finishing Thrust is not the strongest move]
That's all for me today, I hope this will help someone
