Tips or advice about Arena battles?

Hello everyone. Hope everybody is having a nice day.
I would love to hear some advice about the arena battles. I finally learned that the battles are how you get coins for the special weapons. I thought I was decent with a few weapons but I couldn’t beat the silver time against the Pukei Pukei.
Are there any tips or advice? Should I practice more with the weapons and be more aggressive? Is it easier with a partner?
