I don't know if this was discussed before or not, but how comes, there is an ingame shop where you have to trade real life money for a fake currency and then they still sell things that can only be purchased with real money ?

I am a casual player and would've liked to purchase the item box upgrades since i constantly hit max now and have to throw things away. I have 2500 gems from the discounted pass that was available when the game came first out and I don't really need them for anything besides the double rewards tbh since I don't really need anything from the shop. Now I noticed that the box upgrades can't be purchased with those gems ? And they also sell "packages" that can't be purchased with gems ? Why even sell ingame currency when you still have to purchase things with real currency?
