TLDR: youtuber 'Recommended Playing' has progression guides for each weapon. Use the Setbuilder from r/MonsterHunterMeta sticky if you want to create builds yourself.

I see a lot of (new) players asking for a progression guide for a specific weapon or for pre-endgame builds. However, all the tools are already available on reddit and youtube to build your own sets.

The youtuber 'Recommended Playing' has a hour long progression guide for every weapon from base MH:Rise. Furhtermore, he has a Sunbreak progression guide for the Hunting Horn, Charge Blade, Gunlance, Bow, Long Sword and Dual Blades.

For further pre-endgame builds you can use the following strategy:

1) Look at the end-game builds from the sticky post of r/MonsterHunterMeta. More specifically: look at which skills they use in the build. For each build is indicated which skills are the most important (this can be deduced from the 'downgrade' and 'upgrade' options for each build. 2) Now you know which skills and weapons are the most important for each build. You can now use one of the Set Searchers provided in the same sticky note. I use the GameCat Set builder: GameCat Armorset Builder for Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

3) Fill in the skills that you want on your set.

4) exclude any armor/decoration that you have not yet acces to. For example, I exclude Risen armor from the Sunbreak expansion and certain decorations that I have not yet reached the requirements for.

5) click search and the Set Builder will provide the armor pieces and decorations needed to build your desired build!
