To be clear I love Rise and am now waiting excitedly for the next content drop later this month. That said there are a handful of features from World I'd like to see carried over into Rise at some point or another, or at least make a return in a future installment.
The first thing is specific to Insect Glaive which is my main weapon. The Kinsect types in Rise essentially take the features of the Kinsect in World and split them up. In World you could buff your Kinsect and allow it to take two extracts at once, it would attack the monster on its own and it would leave dust which could be exploded for various types of damage. Now all of those features have been divied up.The one thing I don't think was in World is the Kinsect type that buffs your attack when you have all three extracts and the Kinsect is on your arm. The other thing is how slow the Kinsect is at returning when it is recalled even at higher levels.
The next thing is a big one and its for everyone. Item Box management in Rise is an absolute mess with consumables and crafting mats all in the same box with nothing dividing them along with items that are only for selling. Hopefully we see this updated in a patch as its the most glaring omission from World in terms of making the game more player friendly. The other thing is limiting how many crafting items like monster parts and ore you can carry which makes you need to make an occasional trip back to camp to put it all away.
The final thing is actually pretty minor. But Zinogre's howls in Iceborne were so much better than they are in Rise. Also Zinogre seems to be a lot smaller in general.
Oh, the final thing is while I love the world and map design of Rise the color palatte is a little washed out and I wouldn't mind seeing a bit more saturation. That is just me though. Still, LOVE Rise and excited to play more!
