So this is my very first monster hunter game. The series has always looked interesting to me, but have been on uh unideal platforms.
Anyway I'm thoroughly enjoying my time on the demo, the singleplayer hunts were relatively easy and scaled appropriately enough I think? I never carted once though except when I tried to solo diablos and even then I managed to break a horn off and stuff before timing out.
The game became a whole lot more challenging playing with one other person, we could barely beat Anja in time, I used my barrel bombs to kill him sleeping with 6 seconds to spare lol. Two players definitely seems like the hardest to play. Also diablos rolled us hard so that was fun
Now I'm looking for tips/tricks and general advice on the weapons I like I guess
So far my top three are switch axe, hammer, and possibly charge blade (need to test it more) with gun lance and sword and shield shortly behind. Not quite a fan of dual blades or long sword cause they feel a little overly simple I guess and gs is a bit too slow.
Anyway what I've been doing for switchaxe is waiting for an opening then switching and using the full combo ending with a discharge and waiting again. However, I've read axe mode is fairly useless and you should only be in it if you have nothing left in the phial, is that true? Otherwise it's an extremely fun and satisfying weapon
Charge blade I feel essentially all you do is build charges, store them and unleash hell. Which is also satisfying as hell. Is there much more to its combat?
Hammer is straight forward enough, but one thing id like to know is how necessary using the power charge is compared to normal charged attacks and such. Also are you allowed to hit places other than the head? Haha
I feel sword and shield is simple enough to test new monsters out and gun lance to use for its awesome defence and badass offense on new monsters
Tl;dr: enjoyed the beta, looking for tips and advice mostly on SA, CB, and Hammer. Maybe sns and gl. Other weapons welcome too
