Is multiplayer cheating?

I was stuck on barioth on iceborne and had someone join to help me and i feel dirty since this is thw first assigned quest ive dont this for. Is multiplayer cheating? I know it scales the monsters up but splitting agro definetly seems to more than make up for it.
