I have always been interested in the creatures humans called monsters. Centaurs and lamias can be found in most cities as can other more human monsters. Even zombies and slimes are accepted in most towns. Only the beastly monsters are feared. That being said. My interest landed me a unique opportunity. A rare egg had been found, and its simple requirements meant anyone could care for it easily. It didn't take my parents long to convince school that they would be a great care taker for the couatl egg.

The winged rainbow serpents are practically unheard of, but as with other long lived species. It is not unheard of. All that is really known of this race is that they can grow to be 15ft long, live over 2000 years, have a body like a lamia except the scales are brightly colored, arms are like a harpy, feathered and winged with a hand in the middle following the rainbow pattern, and even their hair grown in in bright or deep dark colors. From fire red, coal black, chestnut browns and such.

They was given the egg when I was still pre k, and just before entering school the egg hatched, and for the summer between I got to experience the fun of having a pet flying serpent, but humans are not equipped to raise young serpents, and soon the couatl was sent to live with the lamia community. I would never have guessed that the room mate assigned to my dorm in college would be the rainbow serpent from my childhood, and I was not ready for the change.

Just looking to do a little slice of life with a rainbow serpent. You can have any personality you want, but there is 1 element I want added.

1) hunter. Something can trigger the hunter in you. Maybe if I sweat too much I smell too much like dinner, or I just look delicious when I sleep. Something easy to avoid, but we still need to be mindful of.
