Any monohearing hikers/outdoorsmen(or outdoorswomen)?
Post Body

Since losing hearing in my right ear, Iā€™ve experienced all the mono hearing fun. And since I just canā€™t handle busy social situations anymore, Iā€™ve been doing a lot of hiking. Normally nature is quiet and serene, but sometimes (and arguably all the time) you need your ears to let you know whatā€™s going on around you! Not knowing where sound is coming from in the office is one thing. But when youā€™re in the woods, it takes on a whole new level of importance. On day hikes I take my dog along, so I can see where sheā€™s looking when ā€œimportantā€ sounds come up (whether it be other hikers on the trail, animals, atvā€™s etc). Does anyone have any tips or tricks, or any relatable stories from the woods?
