Any monohearing hikers/outdoorsmen(or outdoorswomen)?
Post Body
Since losing hearing in my right ear, Iāve experienced all the mono hearing fun. And since I just canāt handle busy social situations anymore, Iāve been doing a lot of hiking. Normally nature is quiet and serene, but sometimes (and arguably all the time) you need your ears to let you know whatās going on around you! Not knowing where sound is coming from in the office is one thing. But when youāre in the woods, it takes on a whole new level of importance. On day hikes I take my dog along, so I can see where sheās looking when āimportantā sounds come up (whether it be other hikers on the trail, animals, atvās etc). Does anyone have any tips or tricks, or any relatable stories from the woods?
