LCD Damage gradually gets worse and worse

My ultrawide monitor starts out with a thin, green line running across the screen when I turn it on and eventually turns into this. what could be the source of the problem and is it fixable? I should also mention every time I turn it off or disconnect the power it goes back to just being a small green line until it gets like this again.
