New baby Savannah

I just got a new Savannah about a month ago. He’s temporarily in a 40g tank and ambient temp is 80-90 and basking area is 120-130. Is it possible for a sav to NOT like the heat? I never see this dude basking. He’s usually sleeping in his water dish and stays typically on the ambient temp side of the tank. He eats good and is still very active. Wondering if sav’s can very in their preferences or is it something I should worry about?
